Mid-nineties, this was the best you could get.  Tippy-top. 

Not 100.  Fuck 99.  

 

16-bit, motherfucker. 

16 x 16 = 256. 

 

But you need zero. 

16 x 16 = 255

 

In video games, you don’t memorize stats.  No RBIs.  Just Stamina, Constitution, Valor, Strength.  Everything you don’t have IRL. 

 

So you make that shit 255 or die trying.   

 

This is how Final Fantasy VI changed my life.
